Principal's Welcome
Welcome Bison Students, Parents, and Guardians:
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! The Bison High School Faculty and Staff have been eagerly awaiting your return. We will be working hard as a Browning community to recoup learning, provide post-pandemic social-emotional support for our Browning students, and continue to build equity on our campus.
Student schedules will be available Friday, on Aug 27th on StudentVue.
Our school year begins on Tuesday, August 31st at 8:40 a.m. with an All Period Minimum Day. 9th grade students will be dismissed at 2:10 p.m. all other grade levels please review your class schedule and the minimum day schedule to see what time you will be released.
If you are a 10th grade student who is enrolled in 8th period LBCC class on campus, you will be released at 3:40 pm.
We will be coming back full-time, in-person. No hybrid, no zoom classes. Masks will continue to be worn indoors but can be removed outside with appropriate distancing. With the Delta variant and increasing COVID cases, however, these guidelines may be antiquated before you even finish reading this letter! Please stay tuned and stay flexible.
I am happy to share some exciting changes at Browning this year. We will be welcoming two additional counselors--one to support our students with Social Emotional Support and a Social Worker to support our Care Center at Browning.
Always be sure to check our website, your student’s Canvas, and our Browning Telegram weekly newsletter for information to stay current on what is going on at Browning. If you cannot find the answer you seek, or just want a personal touch, please call our office at (562) 997-1700 and we will be happy to help.
I look forward to our work together in the coming year. It will surely hold new challenges for us to tackle, and just as surely it will hold excitement and celebrations.
Sincerely,
Tomika Romant. Ed.D,
Principal Browning High School
