Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation Pathway
Pathway Description
The Pathway at Browning Early College High School is Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation. Students at Browning take a four year sequence of hospitality and culinary courses to prepare them for college and careers in this growing industry. Browning students hone their culinary skills in a state of the art industrial kitchen, compete annually in the C-CAP Culinary Arts Competition, earn their Serve Safe Food Handlers Certificate, and participate in Job Shadows with professional chefs.
To enhance the Hospitality and Tourism Pathway, all students have the opportunity to take early college courses on the Browning campus taught by Long Beach City College professors. Students can earn up to 63 college credits and their Associates Degree for Transfer in Hospitality Management from LBCC upon graduation.
Entrance Criteria
Browning High School does not have entrance requirements. All students are welcome to attend Browning and work towards earning their Associates Degree for Transfer (ADT) from Long Beach City College upon High School graduation.
Sample Schedule
Students who attend Browning High School will take early college courses taught by Long Beach City College faculty on the Browning campus beginning the first semester of their 9th grade year.
